Chico Nannies

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where does Chico Nannies service?

We offer service in Chico, Paradise, Oroville, Orland, Durham and Forest Ranch.

2. What is the screening process of your nannies?

The first step in the screening process is to review applications and resumes. If applicants meet our requirements we proceed with an in person interview. We ask potential nannies a series of questions to help us understand their past experience with children, how they deal with safety issues, their flexibility and dedication to the families they work for. Approximately 50% of nannies who submit an application are rejected. If we feel as if the candidate has potential we will proceed by contacting all references. We ask all past work references informative questions about how the candidate worked for them. Our reference checking includes a document that at least one past employer must fill out. This document verifies past employment and performance. We then continue with a background check which includes; felony report, trustline registration, dmv report and Social Security verification. All of our nannies are required to have:

-2 years of professional experience with children
-Excellent references
-Strong communication skills
-CA drivers license
-Ability to make a one year commitment
-Infant/Child CPR certification
-Ability to pass all background checks
-U.S. work authorization

*Please note: Before hiring a potential nanny, Chico Nannies must feel confident enough with the nanny to leave them with their own children.

3. Will my nanny do housework?

Light housework is expected of our nannies. We recommend that you have the nanny perform any household work during downtime such as nap or T.V. so the nanny can give your child their full attention. Every one of our nannies fully understands that they MUST clean-up after themselves and to keep the house as clean as possible by the time you return home.
4. What can I expect to pay my nanny?

In the chico and surrounding areas the going rate for a qualified experienced nanny is between $9-$15 an hour, which depends on the number of children and ages, hours worked per week and the nannies experience.
5. Why choose Chico Nannies instead of finding a nanny on our own?

Whether you are a working mom, busy dad or could use an extra set of hands, finding a nanny can be a very stressful process. Where do I start? What do I look for? Is this nanny a safe hire? This is where chico nannies can help. Through our extensive hiring process we make sure all of our nannies are of top quality. Once you add up the costs and time of hiring a nanny yourself it is easy to see why chico nannies is the best choice.

6. Why do we pay an application fee?

The fee insures us that you are committed to us before we start the processes of finding you a nanny.
7. Do we still communicate with you about our nanny after the placement is made?

We will be happy to answer any questions to mediate problems between both parties. All questions or concerns can be answered with a simple phone call.
